Quarkcoin is a cryptocurrency first mined on July 21, 2013. Billed as "the elementary currency", Quarkcoin claims to be "after, more secure, and easier to mine" than other cryptocurrencies.[1] In January 2014, International Business Times reported that Quarkcoin was the fastest cryptocurrency, with transactions confirmed in 0.5574 minutes, and also the most-mined, with 548,325 blocks created in approximately six months.[1]
